Internal and External Linking Policy

Internal and External Linking Policy

This policy defines how links are selected and maintained. The goal is discoverability and verification, not endorsement. Links are included when they provide source value, method context, or reproducibility detail.

Internal link rules

  • Link terms to glossary pages when first introduced.
  • Link policy claims to methods or source pages.
  • Avoid orphan pages by adding at least two inbound links.

External link rules

  • Prefer official documents or primary maintainers.
  • Avoid low-signal aggregation pages for core claims.
  • Use archived references when originals are unstable.

Maintenance and checks

Link integrity is reviewed in scheduled passes. Broken links are fixed or replaced; removed sources are annotated in Change Log with rationale.
